Volunteer on Bainbridge

We have little jobs—and big ones

Man with bagged coffee

Eric Cederwall, a Bainbridge accountant, is among the volunteers who help bag our coffee.

The Sister Islands Association depends on volunteers! We have no paid staff on Bainbridge, which allows us to channel all of our revenues to Ometepe. Our volunteer opportunities on Bainbridge range from tasks that take just an hour or two to ones that require an ongoing commitment.

  • Sponsor a project. As an individual or through your church, organization or family, you can sponsor a project proposed by a community on Ometepe. Call Diane at (206) 855-0589 if you are interested in discussing possible projects and what kind of assistance they need. To offer help with health projects, please contact Lynn Oliver using this form. For projects benefiting people with special needs: Dale at (206) 842-5171. For libraries: Susan at (206) 842-3984 or Dallas at (206) 780-8475.
    • Help bag coffee. We need people to help bag and distribute our freshly roasted coffee every Wednesday beginning at 2:30 p.m. at the Islandcraft Roastery off Day Road. Call Barb at (206) 251-3600 if you’re interested in helping. The schedule is flexible;  you do not need to volunteer every week.
    • Help market our coffee. We’re looking for someone with marketing expertise, or an interest in developing this expertise. We’re especially interested in boosting our internet sales. If this is your passion, please call Jeanne at (206) 780-1246.
