Parents reading letter

Host parents read an introductory letter from their Bainbridge student delegate. Early in the year, each student writes a letter to his or her prospective host family, providing photos and background about the student’s life on Bainbridge.

Thirteen students and five chaperones will be traveling to Bainbridge’s sister island in June — the 28th year the Sister Islands Association Bainbridge has sent a Student Delegation to Ometepe to live with host families and work on community-based projects. This year’s group  plans to use money raised at the dinner and auction to continue support for several established efforts of the Sister Islands Association, such as scholarships for Ometepe college students, education for deaf students, and library literacy projects.

The April 15 event will include something for everyone, from the excitement of the Silent Auction to entertainment, talks discussing the Bainbridge Ometepe relationship, and plenty of food! Dinner tickets cost just $15, or only $5 for children 12 years old and younger. Click to purchase online.

family with welcome sign

A host family on Ometepe extends a welcome to their student delegate. Our office staff on Ometepe completes the introduction process by photographing each host family and sharing those photos with the student delegates.
