The health fair on Ometepe that Bainbridge students helped support
The 2013 student delegation auction was a huge success. All of the donations and expenses aren’t in yet, but preliminary tallies indicate students raised approximately $13,000. They wasted no time in putting the money to good use. Organizers of a health fair on Ometepe asked our office in Altagracia if the Sister Islands Association could contribute $700 to support the event. The students said yes, and the health fair was a great success. It featured talks about health careers as well as health topics, including healthy eating.
Student delegations typically set aside a small amount as seed money for projects that will be planned by the next year’s student delegation. The rest of the proceeds, they send to support projects on Ometepe.
